We Are The Church

We believe the church is not somewhere you go; it’s something you are. We know that God is moving through His church, and we want you to be a part of it. There are several ways you can get involved.

Adult Discipleship

We believe that advancing God’s Kingdom doesn’t come through new ways of doing church, but through the ancient way — faithful preaching and contextualizing the unchanging gospel within a changing culture. Wheeler Church teaches faith in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, as the only way to eternal life.

T.O.W.N. Square

T.O.W.N. Square (Together On Wednesday Nights) is our mid-week program that meets every Wednesday evening during the school year from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. starting September 4, 2019.
We gather at 5:30 p.m. for a family style meal. Then at 6:00, we get together for a short time of worship before breaking into age-appropriate groups for activities and Bible study.
We offer the following small groups and activities.
  • Littles – Pre-school through 3rd grade
  • Middles – 4th – 6th grade children
  • Youth Group – 7th – 12th grade
  • Adults
T.O.W.N. Square meets whenever Union Township Schools are in session.

Wheeler United Methodist Church has discovered that one of the benefits from the connectional form of organization found within the United Methodist Church is that we can combine our ministry efforts with other churches in our area.  Wheeler United Methodist Church has merged our Food Pantry with the Food Pantry operated by  Salem United Methodist Church.

Community: Connecting with Others

In our Vision Statement, we declare how important we believe building relationships with others is to the furthering of God’s Kingdom.  Wheeler Church does this in a variety of ways.
  • Every May, we sponsor a Wheeler Community Clean-up Day where we rub elbows with our neighbors to make our community look the best it can be.
  • In August each year, we partner with the Union Volunteer Fire Department for their Annual Car Show to benefit improvements to the Township Park located at the 5th Street Club.
  • On the first Saturday in December, the ladies of the United Methodist Women (UMW) hold a Cookie Walk to fund their mission projects by selling a variety of homemade Christmas cookies for the Advent Season.
  • When needs arise, volunteers from Wheeler Church have visited areas of unspeakable disasters in disaster relief efforts.
Check back on our website for opportunities to serve on one of these work teams.
